Environmental Studies

EIA

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a process of evaluating the likely environmental impacts of a proposed project or development, taking into account inter-related socio-economic, cultural and human-health impacts, both beneficial and adverse.Importance of environmental impact assessment is to to promote safe environment, sound and sustainable development, by measuring environmental impact likely to be caused by projects. EIA shows impact levels on marine species, land, plants, animals, micro-organisms and non-living organism. It includes
o Mining projects
o Petroleum projects
o Infrastructure Projects

EA

An environmental audit is a type of evaluation intended to identify environmental compliance and management system implementation gaps, along with related corrective actions. The benefits of the audit include: Reducing environmental impacts. Reducing waste, water and energy costs (annual savings are typically greater than our fee for the audit) Improving relations with stakeholders. Providing the foundation for an environmental management system (EMS)

Modelling

Environmental modeling deals with representation of processes that occur in the real world in space and time. The processes that transform the environment through time are mostly described by dynamic models based on differential equations. Models can be used to synthesise our understanding of a system and facilitate the exploration of possible impacts of changes in management, climate and other factors. Modelling can also be an effective process in helping to identify knowledge gaps and prioritising monitoring requirements and management options. We have been modelling in
• Waste water Treatment
• Air Pollution Modelling
• Noise Modelling

EMP

Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is a guidance document to measure and achieve compliance with the environmental protection and mitigation requirements of a project, which are typically requirements for project permits/approvals. Environmental management plans describe how an action might impact on the natural environment in which it occurs and set out clear commitments from the person taking the action on how those impacts will be avoided, minimised and managed so that they are environmentally acceptable. Environment Management Plan (EMP) is the tool to ensure a safe and clean environment.

GIS

A geographic information system (GIS) is a system that creates, manages, analyzes & maps all types of data. GIS helps users understand patterns, relationships, and geographic context. The benefits include improved communication and efficiency as well as better management and decision making.
What Is It and Why Do We Need It?
Simply put, a GIS (Geographic Information System) combines layers of information about a place to give a better understanding of that place. GIS links maps to databases and creates a visualization of data, and allows interactivity between the map and the data in a database.
